Kpone Katamanso municipal health directorate in collaboration with Apollonia Health center launched this year’s annual breastfeeding week on 15th August 2025 with the following activities quiz on breastfeeding for breastfeeding mothers
- Health walk
- Radio advocacy
- Baby show
- Market and lorry station storm
- Health screening
The launching saw a massive attendance of about 100 people and few mothers who did exclusively breastfeeding share their success stories. Food demonstration was done to educate the public and breastfeeding mothers on the need to eat variety of food, fruits and vegetables and to refrain from refined food in order to get more energy to breastfeed their babies and adequate supply of breast milk
Health screening that was carried out which included the following;
- Oral screening
- BP Checks
- BMI
- HB
- RBS
- Malaria
- Typhoid
- TB screening
- HIV screening
- Eye screening.
