The Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Roads Department is responsible for the efficient planning, development and maintenance of the road network in the municipality. It also includes the management of road transport infrastructure and the coordination and integration of the operations of different transport modes to efficiently move people and goods in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner. We also ensure road safety on our roads and seek to reduce travel time on our road network.
The activities that are generally undertaken by the Roads department includes routine and periodic maintenance which fall under the following:
- Grading & Spot improvement
- Pothole patching
- Construction of drains & culverts and minor drainage repair works
- Desilting works
- Traffic control and management
During the first and second quarters of 2025, funds have been allocated to the following routine maintenance and periodic activities:
- Construction of 2 x 3.5m 3 cell box culvert at Prince Bar, Kubekro
- Desilting of U- drains along Nii Oglie Street
- Desilting works at Ogboste Quarshie Road, Kpone
- Desilting works at Shikabu Street Kpone
- Desilting works behind BOST, Saki
- Grading and spot improvement on Affordable Road, Kpone
- Grading and spot improvement infront of KAMSBERG Office, Sebrepor
- Grading and spot improvement works on Kpone Barrier Road Slab works
- Junction improvement and access slab work at Albert Antie Street, Kpone
- Access slab works at Kakasunaka.
