Appolonia Methodist Primary School on 27th October, 2021 launched her 75years anniversary. The theme for the celebration was ‘AMPS REFLCTION ON CHERISHED GAIN@ 75 AND LAUNCHING INTO THE FUTURE THROUGH TEACHING EVRYONE TO LIVE LIKE JESUS CHRIST”.
The headmistress of the school in her address stated that the poor state of the school buildings have seen few renovations and high rate of enrolment hence the need for a new school block. She as well appealed for washroom and ICT block and also support in both kind and cash to help lift the school. She highlighted some challenges facing the school as the townfolks sharing the same washrooms with the school.
The Municipal Director of Education, Mr Harry Evans Arthur appealed to the chief to get the land of the school documented to help stop encroachment. He also reiterated his vision of fencing the school and also ensure that the Methodist Primary is expanded into a full basic school by adding JHS. The Appolonia city pledged to support with the new school block. The anniversary launching was performed by the lay chairman of the Tema Methodist Diocese.
In attendance were some dignitaries like, the Member of parliament; Mr Joseph Akuerteh Tetteh, the chief of Appolonia; Nii Amobi II, the Methodist Regional and Local manager, Director of Appolonia city, among others.
