EDUCATIONAL ESCURSION FOR CIVIC EDUCATION CLUB MEMBERS AT INSPIRED VISION PRIMARY AND JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL- BY NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR CIVIC EDUCATION, (NCCE)

As part of Ghana’s 68th Independence Day Celebrations, the Oyibi Zonal Office of the National Commission for civic Education (NCCE) in the Kpone Katamanso Municipal Assembly (KKMA) organized an educational excursion for members of Civic Educational Club from Inspired Vision Primary and junior high School, Appolonia. The trip, which took place on 7th March 2025, was led the school’s headmaster Emmanuel Owusu, along with Joyce Zowonu (Senior Civic Educator and Afi Okwah Quarshie(Civic Educator).The students had the opportunity to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum.

At the park, the students were guided by Mrs Pearl Atiogbe,who provided important information about the history of the mausoleum and the life of Dr Kwame Nkrumah,Ghanas first president. Mrs Atiogbe explained Dr Nkrumah’s role in Ghana’s independence and his vision for Ghana. Some exhibits the students explored included: bronze status of Dr Kwame, Nkrumah in his iconic pose, the tombs of Dr Kwame Nkrumah and his wife Fatima Nkrumah, personal artifacts such as books, photographs, piano , clothings,Original documents, speeches and letters from his time as a leader.

Mrs Atiogbe detailed explanations enhanced the students understanding of Ghana’s independence struggle, fostering  a sense of patriotism and deepening their appreciation for democracy journey .the student actively participated in discussion’s and gained deeper appreciation for the legacy of Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

The trip was highly educational, providing the students with a deeper understanding of Ghana’s history, independence movement and national heritage.
