EDUCATION ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL 3 (SDG3) BY NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR CIVIC EDUCATION (NCCE)

As part of the Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), ” Good Health and Wellbeing” the Chrissy Foundation and ZENU zonal council office held an awareness campaign led by Representatives from HEALTH PROMOTION UNIT – GHS to celebrate the 2025 Menstrual Hygiene Day with students from Zenu KKMA 4 & 2 and Prince KKMA 1& 2 Junior High Schools under Kpone Katamanso Metropolitan on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) which has being a stakeholder of CHRISSY FOUNDATION partnered this activity in creating a period friendly world, making menstruation a normal fact of life.

The engagement empower menstruates to dismantle taboos and increase access to age-appropriate menstrual health and hygiene education,  safe sanitation facilities to ensure Girls do not miss school during Menstruation .

Ms. Benedicta Amekuadzi (PCEO – NCCE zenu zonal council office) stated that as a country we should strive for a future where no Girl misses school for 4 to 5 days every month due to inaccessible menstrual materials, where every girl shall be empowered, confident, and equipped to pursue her dreams without limitation.

The engagement with learners was very interactive, and entertaining as approximately 400 girl child learners were given free sanitary pads to support them in the next 2 months and a month respectively from the two cluster of schools.
