An orientation program was organized on 8th May, 2026 for newly posted National Service Personnel (NSP) at the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly (KKMA).The program aimed to officially welcome personnel and equip them with essential knowledge about their roles, responsibilities and expectations during their service year. It was also meant to familiarize personnel with their departments and supervisors.

In her welcome address Maame Baotemaa Boakye, head of the Human Resource Unit of KKMA, introduced the various departments and units to the NSP. She also laid emphasis on punctuality, discipline and teamwork. In addition, the HR explained extensively the functions of the various departments and units within the Assembly. She encouraged the NSP to learn on the job and also uphold the image of KKMA and the National Service Scheme.

Immanuel Nii-Lante Lartey, the District Manager of National Service Authority for KKMA explained the purpose and importance of National Service to the service personnel. He also touched on specific roles assigned to personnel and expectations from their supervisors. Mr. Lartey stressed on monthly evaluation forms, allowance processes and use of official communication channels to address grievances. He also encouraged the service personnel to be committed, discipline and proactive.

The orientation program was successfully carried out to provide the NSP with the necessary knowledge and confidence to contribute effectively to the Assembly and the community.
