The Kpone Traditional Council (KTC) has appealed to President John Dramani Mahama’s led government to prioritise the construction of road networks and provision of potable water in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality, describing the situation as critical and long overdue.
Nii Tetteh Oglie II, Chief of Nmlitsakpo, made the appeal on behalf of the council when Mrs. Linda Obenewaa Ocloo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, paid a courtesy call on the traditional authorities as part of her tour of the region.
Nii Oglie noted that despite the area’s consistent support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since the inception of the Fourth Republic, communities within the municipality continued to grapple with deplorable roads and inadequate water supply.

He said the absence of good road networks across the entire municipality had hindered economic activities and posed safety concerns for residents.
He added that access to potable water also remained a major challenge and urged the regional minister to ensure the needs of the people were addressed.

On her part, Mrs Ocloo conveyed greetings from the Presidency and expressed appreciation to the traditional leaders for their continuous support during the 2024 general elections.
She assured them of the government’s commitment to bringing development to the doorsteps of citizens across the region. She announced that streetlights would soon be distributed to enhance visibility, while security measures, including increased police presence, would be intensified during the festive season.
According to the Greater Accra Regional Minister, the long-lasting boundary issues between Kpone, Prampram and other neighbouring communities would be addressed to ensure peaceful habitations among the embattled traditional areas.
As part of her visit, the minister presented 40 bags of rice, 40 cartons of cooking oil, assorted drinks and an undisclosed sum of money to the Kpone Traditional Council.
