NHIA SET TO BUILD DISTRICT OFFICE IN KPONE-KATAMANSO

 

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) is set to build an ultra-Modern district office in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kpone, during a site visitation Mr Samuel Sowah Oblejumah, Greater Accra Regional director of National Health Insurance Authority, stated that the visit was to inspect the parcel of land dedicated to the construction of the NHIA district office for the people of Kpone-Katamanso.

Mr. Oblejumah further noted that all stake holders have been duly informed and that the project is expected to commence within two weeks adding that the contractor and the consultant have put the needed preparation to ensure the project would be executed within the stipulated period

Mr. Joseph Akwerteh Tettey Member of parliament for the Kpone katamanso constituency also hinted that the facility would enhance health services within the municipality.

According to the Kpone Katamanso MP most constituents have to commute to other places to register for their health insurance card or get it renewed stressing that that the district office when completed would cater for all those inconveniences.

Mr Tettey further stated that the project when started is expected to be completed within eight months period, saying Kpone –Katamanso have been elevated to a metropolitan status and its important such facilities built to complement their elevation.

Mr Samuel Tetteh Quashie Morton the Municipal Chief Executive, Kpone- Katamanso Muncipal Assembly (KKMA) welcomed the vision to construct such facility in the Municipality.

He added that all relevant documents for the demarcated land was ready and that the traditional authorities have verified  same, stressing that there would not be any litigations as far as the land for the NHIA district office in Kpone was concerned 

The Ghana News Agency observed that a team from the regional office of the National Health Insurance and officers from the Kpone Katamanso Municipal Assembly visited the site before the project commenced in two weeks’ time.
