Officials from Emerge New Woman, a non-governmental organization (NGO), visited the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly (KKMA) for a stakeholders’ meeting on 19th May, 2025.
Emerge New Woman seeks to promote and enhance mental health support for women. The organization also provides seed funding for vulnerable women and encourages them to seek help during difficult times rather than remain silent.
The meeting was attended by selected Assembly Members and Heads of Departments in the conference room of the Assembly.

Participants discussed how women facing mental health challenges can seek advice, counselling, and motivation throughout their recovery journey. Counsellors and mental health nurses also sensitized stakeholders on the concept of mental health and how communities can support one another.
Attendees were educated on how to release fears that hold them back. They also learned the importance of letting go in order to progress and achieve their aspirations.
The NGO aims to collaborate with KKMA to educate residents—especially vulnerable women—on how to cope with mental health challenges across the Municipality.
Public education campaigns would be carried out in schools, mosques, churches, and community information centers.
