Kpone Katamanso Municipal Health Directorate successfully climaxed the celebration of Purple Month 2026, a month dedicated to creating awareness on Mental Health and promoting mental wellbeing within our communities.
Throughout the month, health facilities across the municipality organized several activities including health education sessions, community sensitization programmes, radio health talks, counselling activities, and public engagements on mental health issues such as depression, suicide prevention, stress management, and psychological wellbeing.
The climax of the celebration was held on 21st May, 2026 during the Municipal DHMT Meeting at the Health Directorate, where management members from all public health facilities, Unit Heads at the Health Directorate, Sub-District Heads, and Mental Health Staff across the municipality joined together in purple attire to demonstrate support for mental health awareness and advocacy.
Kpone Katamanso Municipal Health Directorate proudly joined the national call to “Go Purple” to help fight stigma and discrimination associated with mental health conditions and to encourage open conversations on mental wellbeing.
