The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE); of Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly (KKMA) Hon. Dr Samuel Oko Amanquah on the 6th February 2024 cut the tape to commissioned a three (3) Unit kindergarten block at the Nii Oglie Model 1 Basic school at Nmlitsakpo.

In an address, the Hon. MCE appealed to the headmistress, teachers and pupils of the school to take good care of the facility. He also expressed profound gratitude to the Chief of Nmlitaskpo, Nii Tetteh Oglie II for providing the Assembly with the land for the construction of the school and called on other chiefs to emulate by reserving lands for the provision of educational infrastructure. He revealed that the population of the Municipality keeps increasing by 13% annually however there is a huge infrastructural deficit for educational purposes. He added that the Municipality can only boost of one technical and senior high school. He therefore called on corporate bodies and other sponsors to partner with the Municipal Education Directorate and the Assembly to provide more infrastructures for education.

The Municipal Director of Education; Mr Evans Harry Arthur was full of praise for the Assembly and the contractors for the construction of the kindergarten block. He noted that majority of schools in the Municipality were overpopulated and called for the expansion of education facilities within the Municipality in order to admit more pupils and ease congestion in our classrooms. He also pleaded with management of the school to take good care of the edifice. He emphasised that proper care and counselling should be taken as soon as defects are detected.

Nii Oglie II in a brief statement thanked KKMA and the Municipal Education Directorate for working together to put up the KG block. He pleaded with Hon. Amanquah to fence the school and also build a JHS block for the area.
