REPORT ON REVENUE SENSITIZATION EXERCISE CARRIED OUT WITHIN FAITH– BASED ORGANIZATIONS ON PAYMENT OF PROPERTY RATE, BUSINESS OPERATING PERMIT AND OTHER RATE OBLIGATIONS IN THE MUNICIPALITY
(1ST –27TH MARCH, 2024) : WEEKENDS
The Sensitization Programme was jointly organized by (National Commission of Civic Education) NCCE and officers from the Finance and Revenue Unit of the Municipal Assembly.
The team comprises officers from the NCCE and Revenue experts drawn from the four (4) Zonal Councils namely. Kameberg, Zekas, Onsba and Kpone Zonal Councils and the Municipal Assembly respectively.
These exercise was part of a wider programme design by the Municipal Assembly and NCCEs collaborated effort to with Civil Society Organizations (CSOS) and the general public within the Kpone Katamanso Municipality.
The first phase of the sensitization took them to Kpone Central Mosque after their Friday prayers. Others were the church of Pentecost EWE Assembly Zenu and Kpone Central.
The sensitization exercise has become necessary for the Municipal Assembly to educate the general Public on the Services the Assembly would offer to them as well as their civic responsibilities.
On the other hand, the opportunity was used to encouraged the general Public on prompt payment of their property rates and other Taxes such as business operating license.
The Municipal Assembly could not meet its internally generated fund (IGF) target last year due to external policy guidelines, which had negatively affected the Assembly’s developmental effort.
With the changed in the external policy, the Municipal Assembly was determine to turned things around so that, it would be able to discharged its obligations to the numerous needs of the citizenry within the Municipality.
The Assembly was however sure of meeting its target in 2024 due to the dedication of the team and collaborated effort of NCCE and the receptiveness of the religious groups and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
The Assembly was resolved to pursue Education, Sensitization in our revenue collection effort to meet our set target.
The Municipal Assembly would use this medium to thank the Imam and his leaders of Kpone Central Mosque, the pastors and members of the church of Pentecost Kpone Central and Zenu, for their cooperation and support for the Sensitization Exercise.
The Assembly also assured them that, with their continuous cooperation and support, we would be able to meet our revenue target so that we can complete all the ongoing projects within scheduled.

REPORT ON REVENUE MOBILISATION EXERCISE CONDUCTED FROM 23RD OCTOBER TO 5TH DECEMBER, 2023
As part of efforts to improve the revenue of the Assembly, a task force comprising six (6) teams from the Head Office, Six (6) from Kpone Zonal Council, Five (5) from KAMSBEG, Seven (7) from ZEKKAS and Five (5) from ONSBA was constituted.
These teams visited various companies, shops, stalls and households to ensure that their 2023 rates were paid and the amounts paid were commensurate to the bills issued them. This exercise was conducted through the use of questionnaires, Discussions as well as Inspection and observation of ratepayer’s receipts.
Defaulters were given ultimatum to pay their rates after which recalcitrant ones were sanctioned
The entire exercise was fruitful since it led to the mobilisation of Ghc89,937.00.
